The Texas Ornithological Society provides a free app that serves as a valuable tool for bird enthusiasts in Texas. Based on the well-known BirdsEye bird finding app, the Texas Ornithological Society App offers a range of features to enhance your birding experience:

• Includes a comprehensive list of regularly occurring birds found in Texas.
• Instantly see a list of recently reported birds near you, at various birding hotspots worldwide, or at any selected point on the map.
• Get visual representations of seasonal abundance through bar charts for each bird species.
• Stay updated with a list of "needs" - species that have been reported nearby but are not on your life or year list.
• Access reports of notable birds in your area.
• Synchronize your life or year lists with eBird for global, national, or state-level monitoring.
• Enjoy support for multiple versions of bird names in different languages, including Spanish, French, and others.

Please note that while this app is not a field guide, it is designed to assist users in identifying birds that are currently being spotted nearby or throughout Texas.

To further enhance your birding experience, you can create a Birds in the Hand account:

• Back up your life lists.
• Synchronize your life lists with eBird.
• Access "needs" lists based on birds that are currently not included in your life list.
• Synchronize your account across multiple devices.

If you wish to access additional features, you can subscribe to the optional monthly BirdsEye Membership. With this membership, you will:

BirdsEye is optimized for display on iPhones, iPod Touch, and also functions as an iPhone app on iPads.
